‘We Walk For Her' Brings Attention To Murdered Black Women And Girls
Their cases remain unsolved.
CHICAGO (CBS) — The marchers shined a spotlight Chicago’s women and girls of color who have been murdered or have gone missing. Their cases remain unsolved.
One of those women is Shantieya Smith, who was reported missing in May 2018 and was later found dead under a car in a garage in Lawndale. Her body was decomposed. The cause of death was ruled as a homicide with signs of blunt trauma. Three years later, her cousin said no one has been charged in her murder, and calls to detectives have gone unanswered.
