
The Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety and the South Chicago Heights Police Department Nov. 12 to Nov. 25 sponsored enforcement to remind motorists to buckle up and to not drive impaired both day and night during the Christmas Holiday Season. The South Chicago Heights Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers.
During the mobilization, South Chicago Heights Police Department issued:
- 11 safety belt citations
- 7 child safety seat citations
- 1 suspended/revoked licenses
- 1 uninsured motorists
