Chicago Heights Drama Group To Pursue 'Equity and Inclusivity'

The drama group will be selecting new board members to promote equity and inclusivity initiatives.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — The Chicago Heights Drama Group is moving forward with interviews for an equity and inclusivity consultant, according to their Facebook Page.

The drama group wrote on Facebook that they have researched and interviewed candidates that will work with their board, membership, and community. "We are conducting in-depth interviews with each prior to selection," the drama group said on Facebook. "One of those interviews has concluded and we have at least two more scheduled."

The group also appointed four new Board Members to fill vacancies while they plan for a general election this fall. The post stated that the members are: Angelo Greene, Liane Williams, Tina Zagone, and Chuck Kaffka.

"We are working on a revision of the Drama Group organization’s By-Laws to allow for more inclusivity and participation in leadership positions," the drama club wrote.

The group wrote that they are working on becoming a performing arts group again, and will be hosting "staged ZOOM readings."

"One is in rehearsal and more are planned," the group wrote. "To help with that project, we have assembled a Volunteers in Production Media Group who will be our technical ZOOMers and shakers."
