Chicago Heights Man, 21, Charged With Murder In 2025 Shooting Death Of Dolton Man

The shooting happened May 15, 2025, reportedly during an altercation between the two men, who police said knew each other.

PARK FOREST, IL — A Chicago Heights man has been charged with murder in the May 2025 shooting death of a Dolton man, Park Forest police said Tuesday.

On May 15, 2025, Kevin M. Miller Jr., 26, was shot and killed in the 0–100 block of Krotiak Road in Park Forest. The two men knew each other, and the shooting was not random, police said.

Following an extensive investigation by the Park Forest Police Department’s Investigations Division, in partnership with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, Camarion Reed-Bell was identified as a suspect in the homicide.

On Dec. 22, 2025, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one count of first degree murder against Reed-Bell, 21, who was already in custody at the Cook County Department of Corrections on unrelated charges. Reed-Bell subsequently appeared for a first-appearance court hearing and was ordered by a judge to be detained pending further court proceedings.

The Park Forest Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Miller and thanks its law enforcement partners for their assistance with this investigation, police said.
