Markham Man, 30, Charged In Chicago Heights Shooting That Killed 1, Injured 4
The shooting happened Aug. 30 in the 400 block of West 14th Street.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A Markham man has been charged in connection with a weekend shooting in Chicago Heights that killed a Country Club Hills man and injured four others, according to police.
Surveillance footage, license plate reader images and witness interviews were used in the investigation, police said. Police on Monday charged Lavaris Yarbrough, 30, of Markham with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of aggravated unlawful restraint.
Officers responded around 4 a.m. Saturday to the 400 block of West 14th Street, where they found three people shot and a fourth with facial injuries, all of whom were taken to hospitals, according to WLS. A fifth gunshot victim walked into a hospital, WLS reported.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday morning identified the deceased as 27-year-old Kameron Henderson of Country Club Hills, noting he died around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
