Police Blotter: Cops Find Malnourished Fox in Back Yard

Door Knocker

Brandon Elliott, 20, of the 10400 block of South King Drive, was arrested and charged with violating a City soliciting ordinance after police were called about him disturbing residents in the 100 block of Normandy Drive, according to the report. Asked what his business was in the area, Elliott said he was selling for a company. Asked if he had a solicitor's permit, Elliott said he did not and that he was not soliciting, but was just knocking on residential doors for his company. Man told police they were just harassing him because he was "a black man with a job." Police then took Elliott into custody.

Angry Ex-Husband

A 40-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her ex-husband was upset about her going out and kicked the main access door to her home, damaging the door frame. The man then stole the woman's credit cards, checks and car keys before leaving the area, according to the report.

Slick James

57-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police a jewelry company called "JamesAvery.com" charged nearly $500 on her credit card without her permission. The woman said she learned of the charge when the credit card company brought it to her attention.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19

Fox in Pain

Police responded to a call about children chasing an unknown animal in the 200 block of West Raye Drive. Upon arrival, several neighborhood kids directed police to the 100 block of Frederick Drive, saying the creature ran to the rear of the property. Police found a fox lying in the back yard of the property. The fox looked to be in poor physical condition so police called an animal control officer, who removed the fox and said he would euthanize the animal due to its condition, according to the report.

Threats at Gyro Express

A 21-year-old employee at Gyro Express, in the 1800 block of Chicago Road, told police a co-worker informed him about a visit from three men, who were dressed in all black and carrying baseball bats. The men asked the co-worker about the man's work schedule. One of the threatening men told the co-worker "We're gonna get him," according to the report.
