Appellate Court Gives Baby-Killer Shot at Shorter Sentence

When Lee Ponshe was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, he smiled for his mugshot. In 2009, drunk on vodka and lemonade, jacked up on pills, Ponshe smacked his girlfriend’s crying baby in the head and killed her. Little Halli was just 18 months old. Now, an appellate court says he shouldn’t have been sentenced to mandatory life in prison.
