Fraternity and Sorority Partnership Provides Holiday Relief to Nearly 200 Local Families
Chicago Heights, IL — In a powerful display of service and unity, the Chicago Heights (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., in partnership with the Lambda Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., hosted their annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at Chicago Heights Middle School. Nearly 200 turkeys and full holiday food baskets were distributed to families across the Chicago Heights community, ensuring they could celebrate Thanksgiving with dignity and comfort.
This annual community event has become a cornerstone of holiday support for local households. Each family received a turkey along with complementary food accessories, allowing them to prepare a complete Thanksgiving meal.
The initiative was made possible through generous donations from chapter members of both organizations. Their contributions reflect the shared mission of uplifting communities and providing meaningful support during times of need.

The Chicago Heights (IL) Alumni Chapter and Lambda Tau Omega Chapter are already preparing for the 2026 Turkey Basket Giveaway. Donations to support next year’s distribution may be made through the Chicago Heights Alumni Foundation, with all proceeds directly contributing to holiday assistance for families in need.
