Trick or Treat: Five Fun Halloween Events Around Chicago Heights
Kids can experience carnival games, hayrides, costume contests and face-painting without leaving the Heights. There's even a little fun to be had by the adults.

Well, it's officially the scariest time of the year.
Election season!
But it's also time for Halloween. Trick-or-treat hours may be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Chicago Heights, but there are plenty of opportunities to have fun all Halloween long.

Halloween Family Fun Fest
- When: Oct. 31, 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
- Where: Prairie State College 202 S Halsted St, Chicago Heights
- What: "Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting a Halloween extravaganza filled with popcorn, hay rides, carnival games, prizes, and more. Halloween Family Fun Fest is free for children through age 12 and their families. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Community Halloween Festival
- When: Oct. 31, 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Where: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 667 8th St, Chicago Heights
- What: "This is will take place in the East Room and will provide a safe, fun environment for neighborhood children to play games, display their costumes, and decorate pumpkins."
Family Haunted Mall
- When: Oct. 31, 10 a.m.
- Where: Treasure Hunters Flea Market, 711 Chicago Rd, Chicago Heights
- What: "Chicago Heights Family Haunted Mall will feature scary creatures throughout, indoor bouncers, face painting, games, talent and costume contest. We invite Retailers and Vendors to sell at this all day FREE Event."
Deadly Haunted Mall Dance
- When: Oct. 31, 8 p.m.-12 a.m.
- Where: Treasure Hunters Flea Market, 711 Chicago Rd, Chicago Heights
- What: "Dare to enter the most deadly Halloween mall event ever. . . Watch their horrifying deadly videos and dance to Monster DJ's favorite Rap Music until Midnight."
Hallelujah Night
- When: Oct. 31, 6 p.m.
- Where: The Cathedral of Joy Baptist Church, 20401 Western Ave, Olympia Fields
- What: "A safe fun night as an alternative to Halloween! Fun for the whole family.... And it's free!!!!! Friendly costumes! Food, games, prizes."
