Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed in McHenry Co. Crash

The collision happened Wednesday evening near Wonder Lake.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 43-year-old Harvard man who died in a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening near Wonder Lake has been identified as Jesse G. Rodriguez, 43, of Harvard. Local authorities responded to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Hancock Drive and East Lake Shore Drive in Wonder Lake at 7:39 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2001 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Motorcycle was traveling west on Hancock Drive when it appears the driver lost control of the motorcycle before driving off of the road and onto the unpaved median at the intersection.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, authorities said.

Toxicology and autopsy results are pending, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
