After Amazon Warehouse Plans Nixed For Crystal Lake, 178 Homes To Take Its Place
Pulte Homes is proposing the addition of single-family homes for a 63-acre parcel at 275 S. Main Street in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A plot of land once earmarked for an Amazon warehouse now will house 178 single-family homes in Crystal Lake.
Pulte Homes is proposing the Lakeland Farm development be built on a 63-acre parcel at 275 S. Main Street, the Daily Herald is reporting. In 2022, Amazon nixed plans to build a 180,000-square-foot distribution center on the property after receiving approval from the city but before the company formally bought it.
During a recent planning and zoning commission in Crystal Lake, commissioners asked developers to increase the lot sizes proposed for the homes, which could mean 20 less homes for Pulte, and bring back updated plans in the future. Under current plans, there will be 10 different homes available in the subdivision, ranging in size from 1,680 to 3,800 square feet of space, and costing between mid-$400,000s to low $700,000s.
