Route 14 Reopened Following Friday Morning Closure: Police

Downed wires led police to close a portion of the busy roadway Friday morning.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — All of Route 14 in Crystal Lake has reopened, police told Patch Friday.

Earlier in the day, the roadway was closed between Route 31 and Sands Road due to downed wires. As of 11:20 a.m., Route 14 was reopened, Richard Neumann, deputy chief of the police department told Patch.

It's unclear at this point what caused the downed wires, he said.
