Curbside Christmas Tree Pickup Underway In Crystal Lake
The pickup service will be offered over three weeks as part of a special collection.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Crystal Lake residents wishing to dispose of their Christmas trees curbside can do so for free in the coming weeks.
Lakeshore Recycling Services began collecting trees on Monday and will continue pickup through January 23. The pickup service will be offered over three weeks as part of a special collection. The pickup may not occur on your regular collection day, according to a city of Crystal Lake Facebook post.
"Please ensure your tree is free of any tinsel, ornaments or lights. Do not place the tree in a bag," the Facebook post read. "If you are in need of light disposal, city hall offers a holiday light recycling bin in the vestibule before entering the lobby."
