Downtown Traffic Delays Expected As Roadwork Starts

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Drivers in downtown Crystal Lake can expect some traffic delays starting this month as an improvement project gets underway at Main Street and Crystal Lake Avenue, city officials said. Delays and detours are expected to start in March and continue through November.

The project includes:

• Installation of permanent traffic signals
• Widening of Main Street, south of the intersection, including two dedicated lanes and right and left turn lanes
• Pavement resurfacing
• Water main upgrades
• Installation of planters and parkway trees at the southwest corner of the intersection

The city of Crystal Lake will post more updates on the project on the city website.
