Immanuel Lutheran School Hosts Cereal Drive

Immanuel Lutheran School Crystal Lake Collects Nearly 600 Boxes of Cereal for Crystal Lake Food Pantry

Crystal Lake, IL — In just seven days, students and staff at Immanuel Lutheran School in Crystal Lake collected an impressive 597 boxes of cereal to donate to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. The donation drive was part of a school-wide community service initiative during the month of April.

To celebrate the achievement, the school set up a massive cereal box domino run in the gym. After their weekly chapel service, the entire student body gathered to watch the boxes fall in a satisfying chain reaction - cheering as hundreds of colorful cereal boxes toppled in perfect sequence.

"We challenged our students and staff to volunteer and serve within our community during the month of April. Our students were so motivated to bring in cereal and see the stack grow. Some of our teachers even matched their class's donations box-for-box, which created even more excitement! We are so thankful for our school's generosity and grateful that we can help feed our neighbors," says Carole Fiesman, Immanuel Lutheran School Principal. "As a reward to students and staff, we are planning a school-wide pajama party day. We will definitely be doing a cereal drive again in future years!"
