The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) will have native plants, shrubs, trees, vegetables and herbs available during its in-person native plant sale. The sale takes place Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the McHenry County Fairgrounds, 11900 Country Club Rd. Woodstock.

The sale offers a variety of native plants and shrubs and are listed as appropriate for sun, shade or wet areas. Native trees, shrubs, and plants support wildlife, help rain soak into the soil, and provide beauty. Lists of available plants are posted at ConserveMC.org (https://conservemc.org/tlc-native-plant-sale-in-person-may-16-17/). The sale will feature some unique and unusual native plants in addition to more common varieties. Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer customers’ plant questions.

TLC members receive 10 percent off their orders. A portion of the sales from the Native Plant Sale supports TLC’s land preservation work in McHenry County. For more information or advice regarding native plant gardening and restoration contact Sarah Michehl at smichehl@conservemc.org or call 815-337-9502.
