These UP Northwest Line Trains Will Not Operate Thursday Night
As a national railroad strike looms, the first in 30 years, Metra service could be halted Friday as well.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Metra riders will need to find a new way to get home Thursday night, and could also need to do the same on Friday, as a national freight railroad strike looms.
On Wednesday, Metra announced trains on the Union Pacific and BNSF lines will not operate Thursday night. Here are the trains that will not operate on the UP Northwest line:
- Inbound trains 666 and 668 are canceled (all depart after 9:30 p.m.)
- Outbound trains 661,663,665 and 601 are canceled (all depart Chicago after 9:30 p.m.)
Early Thursday, a tentative railway labor agreement was reached that would keep railway companies and trains up and running across the U.S., according to a statement from the White House. It's unclear at this point if Metra trains cancelled Thursday night will now be running again.
