The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is hosting “Howl at the Wolf Oak,” a family event to celebrate the summer solstice and the beauty of Wolf Oak Woods. The event takes place Friday, June 20 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at 8930 Route 120 in Woodstock, IL. Howl at the Wolf Oak is free and open to the public. Participants can register to attend at https://conservemc.org/howl-at-the-wolf-oak-summer-solstice-edition/.

Activities at the event include a bonfire and a guided hike. Walking tacos, sides and s’mores will be served. And, yes, there will be an opportunity for participants to “howl” at the Wolf Oak near the end of the event.

The site’s namesake tree, the Wolf Oak, is over 300 years old and existed when wolves and buffalo roamed McHenry County. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the history and diverse habitats of Wolf Oak Woods and the work that is being done to preserve it.
