The woman was suffering from various traumatic injuries. An initial report indicated the woman was riding a bicycle but fire officials did not confirm that information.
A medical helicopter was immediately requested and landed at the helipad at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Woodstock.
Vucha said the woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance where she was transferred to a LifeStar Chicago helicopter.
The helicopter subsequently transported the woman in critical condition to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
No other injuries were reported in the incident, Vucha said. It is unclear what led to the collision.
The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the crash. The department has not released information on the incident as of Wednesday evening.
