Darien CVS Among Those Closing
The chain cites changes in shopping habits and health care needs.
DARIEN, IL – Darien's CVS Pharmacy is among the nearly 900 drugstores nationwide that the chain is closing.
The store at 8325 Lemont Road is set to shut its doors April 25. The Rhode Island-based company is recommending customers go to the Woodridge store at 8645 Woodward Ave., which is 1.7 miles away.
Patch has left a message for comment with the corporation's headquarters.

In November, the chain announced the closing of the stores, but did not indicate which ones.
It said the closures were in response to population shifts and changes in shopping habits and health care needs.

The company has more than 10,000 stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. It employs about 300,000.
In its November statement, CVS said it was "committed" to helping workers at the closed stores find other jobs in the company, but did not offer details.
CVS was founded in 1963.
