DARIEN, IL – A planned marijuana dispensary in Darien says it is hiring for a number of positions.

High Haven says locations are also planned in Elgin and Normal, but it is not hiring for those places yet.

In a split vote, the Darien City Council in 2019 decided to allow a marijuana dispensary in town. The site for High Haven is a permitted use with no further city action needed.

Under a 2019 state law, towns have a right to determine whether they'll allow marijuana dispensaries. Suburbs such as Burr Ridge, Hinsdale, Western Springs, Elmhurst and La Grange decided against them.
