Darien Police Investigating Two Feb. 16 Home Burglaries

Police ask residents to call 911 to report any suspicious activity.

Darien, IL - Darien police are investigating two home burglaries that reportedly took place Feb. 16.

One burglary took place between 9 and 10:30 a.m. in the 7100 block of Clarendon Hill Road, according to Darien police.

Jewelry, cash and electronic equipment were reported stolen. No one was home at the time of the burglary. A back door was left unlocked, and there were no signs of forced entry.

The other Tuesday burglary took place between 10 and 11 a.m. in the 9000 block of Kilkenny Drive, police reported. A large-screen TV, computers and electronics were reported stolen.

No one was home at the time of the burglary, and a window was broken. The residents didn’t discover the burglary had happened until an hour or two after they came home, police reported.

Darien police ask residents to talk to neighbors, share information and call 911 if they see any suspicious people or cars. Residents are encouraged to lock doors and windows and leave lights on after dark.

Police have also investigated two Feb. 9 burglaries, in which jewelry, money, cell phones and electronics were reported stolen from a home in the 6700 block of Clarendon Hills Road and a home in the 300 block of Janet.
