Key Clue Left In Darien Hit-And-Run Crash: Cops
In another case, a driver did not help a bicyclist she hit, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving a hit-and-run, a bicyclist hit by a car, battery, damage and a DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Hit-and-run
- About 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a police officer noted some chain-link fencing that appeared to have been damaged by a car on Frontage Road, near Cass Avenue. A license plate led the officer to a 38-year-old Lemont man, who was then cited on a charge of failure to report an accident. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

- About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer was called to Concord Place and Cass Avenue for a crash with injuries. Several people told police that a driver struck a bicyclist. A 50-year-old Willowbrook woman was cited on charges of failure to give information or aid after an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision with a bicyclist. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Battery
- A 57-year-old Willowbrook man was arrested shortly before noon July 24 in the 8400 block of Wilmette Avenue on a battery charge. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Police were called about a battery shortly before 8:30 p.m. July 24 at Platinum Cuts, 6800 Route 83. A 41-year-old Lombard man was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Damage

- A mailbox in the 6700 block of Charleston Drive was damaged by an unknown object overnight July 23. The damage was estimated at $150.
DUI
- A 55-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday on charges of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage. Police said the woman was swerving all over the road near Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
