Deerfield Obituary: Anibal Merino, 95

A long-time Deerfield resident, he was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and also vice president of Orange Crush for 37 years.

Anibal Merino, 95, of Deerfield, passed away peacefully at his home, where he lived for 46 years, August 12, 2014.

He was born September 9, 1918 in Chillan, Chile. Anibal was the Vice President for Orange Crush for 37 years and after retirement he had a long successful career as a consultant with Small Business Administration’s “Score” for 35 years . He also served as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in the Deerfield Chapter.

Beloved husband of 66 years of Carmen, nee Roldan; loving father of Rodrigo Merino, MD of Beloit, WI, Carmen Isabel (Chris) Cronson of Long Grove, IL, Carolina (John) Cole of Deerfield, IL, Phil Merino, CPA of Fort Lauderdale, FL and the late Joaquin “Mighty Joe” (Sherri) Merino; and cherished grandfather of Brian, MD, Brett and Daniel Cronson, Angelina and Elizabeth Cole, and Matthew (Dara), Steven and Michael Merino.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 9 am until time of funeral mass 10 am at Holy Cross Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield, IL. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Northbrook, IL.
