Deerfield Park District, Trex Building Launch New Recycling Program

Deerfield Park District has partnered with Trex Building supply to help recycle plastic film and bags that are not recycled by Waste Management (grocery bags, Ziplocs, bread bags, water bottle overwrap, etc.).

There is a collection bin inside the downstairs foyer at the Jewett Park Community Center for clean, dry film/plastic. Not all plastic is accepted… a list is available here and more information is available in the video below. Once 500 pounds of film has been collected, a bench will be made for the Park District out of the recycled film.
