Sixteen five-foot pumpkins made their way all over the Village Saturday as Deerfield began a month long celebration of music, food, fun and charitable giving centered around Deerfield Square and the rest of downtown.
A crowd of more than 200 people gathered either along the parade route to watch the pumpkins tour the Village perimeter and more or watch them unloaded at Deerfield Square. There will be events throughout downtown Deerfield each Saturday in October featuring entertainment, shopping and more.
Each pumpkin is devoted to a specific charity and contains a slot for donations. A panel of judges will select the most creatively decorated pumpkin. The ownership of Deerfield Square will donate $5,000 to the winner’s charity.
