Man Accused Of Hitting Ex-Boss With Car In Des Plaines: Cops

A 44-year-old Lake in the Hills man was charged with attempted murder, fleeing police and reckless driving.

DES PLAINES, IL — A Lake in the Hills man is facing charges after allegedly hitting his ex-boss with a car in Des Plaines Tuesday night, The Chicago Tribune reports.

According to the report, Paul Metz, 44, is accused of driving to his ex-boss' home on Oakton Street where he hit the 61-year-old man with a car that was apparently stolen. According to the report, police allege Metz went to the home with the intention of robbing his old employer and tried to force the man into his car after striking him but authorities arrived.

Metz then allegedly fled police before crashing into a townhouse. He was taken to the hospital for injuries and on Thursday, Metz was charged with attempted murder, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and driving with a revoked license. Additional charges are reportedly pending.

The 61-year-old man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
