Woman, 65, Killed In Car Crash With U.S. Postal Service Truck: Des Plaines PD
The postal worker told police he lost control of his vehicle in the Saturday morning incident, crashing into a car driven by the victim.

DES PLAINES, IL — A 65-year-old Mount Prospect woman was killed Saturday morning following a car crash with a U.S. Postal Service truck. According to police, Laurie Jensen was taken to an area hospital following the crash, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police said Leonard Moore, 48, was traveling southbound on Mannheim Road at 10:07 a.m., in his U.S. Postal Service truck, when he drifted into the northbound lanes. He told police he temporarily lost control of the vehicle, causing him to strike a 2005 Chrysler, driven by Jensen, in the 1700 block of Mannheim Road.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital, where Jensen succumbed to her injuries.

Police said an investigation into the crash is ongoing. Moore was issued a citation for improper lane usage, and was assigned a court date of Jan. 16, 2026.
