Roadside Safety Check Planned for I-90

The roadside safety check will run from the late evening hours of Sept. 27 to the early morning hours of Sept. 28.

DES PLAINES, IL — The Illinois State Police will conduct a roadside safety check in Cook County during the late evening hours of Sept. 27 until the early evening hours of Sept. 28. Troopers will conduct the roadside safety check on the westbound Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I‐90) at the Devon Avenue Toll Plaza at milepost 77.1 near Des Plaines.

Officers working this detail will be watching out for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended 0or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal motor
vehicle crashes in Illinois, authorities said. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road.
