Tanker Overturns, Closes Roadway Near Des Plaines

DES PLAINES, IL — Elmhurst Road over Interstate 90 near Des Plaines is closed this morning after a tanker carrying denatured alcohol overturned. Elmhurst Road is closed between Landmeier Road and Oakton Street, and the off-ramp onto the Jane Adams Tollway is closed down as well, according to Sigalert.com.

Fuel is leaking onto the roadway. The driver of the tanker was extricated from the vehicle and transported via ambulance, according to ABC 7. It's unclear at this point if any other people were injured or when the roadway would reopen.
