Bernard To Fill Vacant Spot On District 58 Board
Nicole Bernard had been set to run unopposed in the upcoming consolidated election.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Nicole Bernard has been selected to fill an open spot on the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 Board of Education.
Bernard had previously been set to run unopposed in the upcoming school board election on April 1. Her appointment comes a month after Board Vice President Greg Harris resigned, citing personal reasons.
“I thank the Board of Education for giving me this opportunity to serve the community. As a Board of Education member, I will work diligently to advance the school district's focus on student learning, staff recruitment and retention, and our District’s financial sustainability,” Bernard said in a statement.

Bernard, who lives in Downers Grove with her husband and their three- and 10-year-old children, serves on the financial committee for District 58. She's also a member of the PTA at Highland Elementary School.
“We are happy to welcome Ms. Bernard to the District 58 Board of Education,” Board President Darren Hughes shared ina statement.

Hughes continued “With her years of experience on the Financial Advisory Committee and her active involvement as a District parent, she has a history of being a strong supporter of our schools. I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to the District in her new role as a member of the Board of Education.”
