Cash Stolen From Car, Retail Theft Reported: Downers Grove Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove are investigating a retail theft, a catalytic converter theft and other crimes that took place during the start of January.
Items Stolen from Home Depot
Police were called to the Home Depot at 2000 Butterfield Rd. on Jan. 3 for a report of a retail theft. Employees told police that a man came into the store just before 10:30 a.m., take building materials and leave the store without paying. The total loss was valued at $580.

Semi Burglarized in 2100 Block of Prentiss Drive
Cash, shoes, a phone and other items were stolen during a semi burglary that took place in the 2100 block of Prentiss Drive. According to police, the victim parked their work semi in the lot around 3 a.m. on Jan. 4. When they returned around 10 a.m., they noticed $1500 in cash was missing, along with a work phone, a dash camera, tracksuits and two pairs of Nikes.

Catalytic Converter Stolen
Someone cut a catalytic converter from a box truck while it was parked in the 5000 block of Chase Avenue. Police say the catalytic converter was stolen sometime between 7 p.m. on Jan. 3 and 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 6.
