DGS Volleyball Seniors Graduate Early, Gear Up for State Finals
Downers Grove South held a special ceremony Thursday night in advance of the volleyball team's state quarterfinal matchup Friday.

Most of the Downers Grove South boys volleyball team have one thing on their minds this week—winning a state title.
But for the team's six seniors, this week was also about graduating from high school.
Austin Adank, David DeMarco, John Hanek, Steve Kryk, Nick Timreck and Chris Widdel will all miss South High's graduation ceremony Friday night as they take on Deerfield in the IHSA state quarterfinals.
The players instead received their diplomas Thursday night during a special ceremony in the school's library.
The No. 5-ranked Mustangs (27-10) advanced to the state volleyball tournament after upsetting No. 2 seed Neuqua Valley (33-5) in the Proviso West sectional Tuesday.
Downers Grove will take on Deerfield (32-6) at 5 p.m. Friday in Hoffman Estates. The winner will play in the semifinals at 11 a.m. Saturday.
