Downers Grove Memorial Day Service, Parade Set for Monday
A memorial service will be held at 8 a.m. at the American Legion Post No. 80. The annual Memorial Day parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. at Burlington Avenue and Main Street.
The village of Downers Grove is planning several ceremonies Monday to honor the nation's service men and women.
Memorial Day ceremonies will kick off at 8 a.m. with a memorial service at the Alexander Bradley Burns American Legion Post No. 80, 4000 Saratoga Ave.
From 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., the post's honor guard will visit six area cemeteries to salute fallen veterans.

The village's annual Memorial Day parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. at Burlington Avenue and Main Street. The parade will travel south on Main Street to Grove Street, ending at Fishel Park.
The official Memorial Day ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

Other Memorial Day Reminders
- Village offices will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.
- The village's garbage hauler, Republic Services, will not collect waste Monday. Collection will be delayed one day for the rest of the week, including Saturday pickup for those whose regular collection day is Friday.
