Downers Grove Woman Indicted On Health Care Fraud Charges

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The office manager of A Woman's Place, a store that wigs, breast prostheses and other items for cancer patients, has been indicted on federal charges of health care fraud.

Judy Strzelecki, 73, was indicted on seven counts of federal health care fraud.

The federal indictment alleges that between 2015 and 2020, Strzelecki billed insurers for items and durable medical equipment that had not been provided to clients or that were not deemed to be medically necessary. Strzelecki and others are accused of receiving $1.8 million in payments from these insurance claims.

She faces up to 10 years in prison for each count.

Strzelecki will be arraigned on July 23.
