First-Ever Big Dill Pickleball Tournament Comes To Downers Grove

Players are invited to flex their pickleball skills at an upcoming tournament at McCollum Park.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Pickleball enthusiasts can rejoice. The Downers Grove Park District is set to host its inaugural Big Dill Pickleball Tournament Sept. 8.

The tournament will take place at McCollum Park, which boasts eight pickleball courts, in addition to three tennis courts that can convert to pickleball courts.

The following categories are available for competitors:

  • Doubles
  • Round robin
  • King queen of the court

Games will be officiated by the players, a news release said. Beginner, competitive and advanced levels are available.

The cost to register for single players is $50 for park district residents and $80 for nonresidents. Doubles teams are $90 for residents and $120 for nonresidents.
