GroveFest 2013: Your Complete Guide to Downers Grove's Signature Festival
The Rotary GroveFest will begin Thursday night and run through the weekend, closing with the 30th annual Festival of Cars on Sunday.

The Rotary Club of Downers Grove's Rotary GroveFest is set to take over the town Thursday night.
New to the fest this year is the Youth Stage, produced by Campus Life. Various acts are set to take the stage Friday through Saturday.
On Saturday, folk and bluegrass acts will perform on the Fishel Park Stage, located on Grove Street, west of Main Street.

Basic Information
- Dates: The Rotary GroveFest takes place Thursday, June 20, through Sunday, June 23.
- Times:
- Thursday, June 20: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday, June 21: Noon. to 11 p.m.
- Saturday, June 22: Noon to 11 p.m.
- Sunday, June 23: Noon to 10:30 p.m.
- Where: The main midway and carnival will be located along Warren Avenue, between Washington Street and Forest Avenue. The new Youth Stage will be located on Main Street, just north of Warren Avenue next to Starbucks Coffee.
- Cost: The Rotary GroveFest is free before 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and before 4 p.m. Sunday. After those times, there is $5 cover charge for anyone over 16. If you pay the $5 admission, you only have to pay it once. So, if you pay it on Friday night and come back on Saturday or Sunday, you won't have to pay again. Wristbands will be given out.
- Amusement ride pricing:
- On Thursday night, there is a $23 unlimited rides pass for the evening.
- On Friday, there's an $18 unlimited kiddie ride wristband option between noon and 4 p.m.
- For the rest of the weekend the cost is 1 ticket for $1.25, 22 tickets for $25, 55 tickets for $60.

Friday, June 21:
5 p.m. To 6:30 p.m.: Shy Violet (Sassy, classy show band: two charismatic female vocalists and a powerful rhythm section. Pop/dance/rock/PARTY!)

7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.: The Jin and Tonic Band (A premier 7-piece country band: powerful 3-part vocal harmonies, amazing musicianship, and a fiddle!)
9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.: 7th Heaven (Chicagoland Rock/Pop band is one of the biggest and busiest indie bands in the world. Now featuring American Idol finalist Anthony Fedorov!)

Saturday, June 22:
12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.: Rock Academy (Downers Grove music school where young musicians can meet, form bands, and rock out!)
3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.: Jet Black Comedy (Chicago based rock band is out to bring back the warm vintage rock sound in a cold digital era.)
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: 28 Days (Chicago-based cover band plays the music you grew up with through today’s hits: pop, rock, funk, classic rock, country, techno, rap, R&B, gospel and more!)
7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.: R-Gang (Voted best R&B band in Chicagoland! Great music and showmanship: R&B, funk & soul, from Motown to the 21st century. If you can’t dance to this band, check your pulse!)
9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Evolution (Bon Jovi, REO, Styx, Boston, Journey: classic to current rock from a new band with the three founding members of Hi-Infidelity!)
Sunday, June 23:
Noon to 12:25: DLD Dance Center
12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.: Bluestone Academy of Dance and Music
1:20 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.: Trinity Irish Dancers
2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Downers Grove North Jazz Ensemble (Award-winning jazz band plays exciting big band and modern jazz with precision and musical depth.)
4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.: American English (Sam Leach, the original promoter of the Beatles calls them “The best Beatle tribute band on the planet!” Voted “Best Tribute Band” six years in a row!)
6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.: Lisa René Band (One of Chicagoland’s top variety bands! A high-energy show featuring Lisa’s powerhouse vocals, strong male vocals, lush intricate harmonies, and a tight rhythm section.)
9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: Maggie Speaks (One of the hottest live bands in Chicago! With unstoppable energy and packed dance floors, they’ve changed the world of cover bands.)
Calling All Blackhawks Fans
Looking for somewhere to watch the big Chicago Blackhawks game Saturday? GroveFest is the place to be.
Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals will be streamed live on the beer garden's big screen, organizers said. There will be plenty of standing room, but fans are also invited to bring their own chairs for their viewing pleasure.
Craft Show
The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club will host a craft show at Fishel Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Festival of Cars
GroveFest will close out the weekend with the 30th anniversary of the Festival of Cars.
About 200 cars are expected at the show, which will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Warren Avenue. Trophies will be awarded to fan-favorite cars.
The show is free to the public.
