Intense Heat Prompts Changes To Cruisin' Nights In Westmont
The Aug. 24 event was not canceled as of 1 p.m., but changes were in effect due to the intense heat.
WESTMONT, IL — With temperatures hitting 100 degrees on Thursday, Westmont officials opted to enact some changes to the village's Cruisin' Nights event.
As of 1 p.m., the weekly event was still slated to continue, but with the following changes in effect:
- Cass Avenue will remain open
- Guests and car owners can park in public spots and lots downtown
- Musical performances will be moved indoors
- Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed on the street
This week marks the penultimate Crusin' Nights for the 2023 season, which is set to close on Aug. 31.
