Internet Restored at Downers Grove Library

Internet access was restored Thursday, ending a nearly 48-hour outage caused by a severe storm Tuesday night.

Internet access has been restored at the Downers Grove Public Library, just two days after it was knocked out by a line of severe storms.

The Internet, library website and all public computers were up and running as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to library spokesperson Melissa Doornbos.

The outage began late Tuesday night when a thunderstorm moved through the Downers Grove area. Because the repair required a new part, library employees initially thought the Internet would be down until Saturday.
