Native Tree, Shrub Sale Preorders Open Soon In Downers Grove
The Downers Grove Park District Native Tree and Shrub Sale will start taking preorders as of May 13.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Park District will open preorders for its 2024 Native Tree and Shrub Sale on May 13. Residents will be able to browse dozens of options that are available on one- or five-gallon containers.
The tree species available for purchase include black oak, bur oak, blue beach, dwarf chinquapin oak, northern catalpa, pagoda dogwood, river birch, sour gum and swamp white oak. The shrub seletion includes black chokeberry, coralberry, dwarf honeysuckle, early wild rose, elderberry, meadowsweet, ninebark, red chokeberry, smooth hydrangea and wahoo.
Bittersweet vines are also up for grabs this year.

Orders will be available for pickup on June 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Downers Grove Public Works, 5101 Walnut Ave.
