Pound Cake Bakery Opens 2nd Location In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Freshly baked pies, over-sized cookies, muffins, quiches and more are set to tempt the senses now that Pound Cake Bakery has opened its second location in downtown Downers Grove. The bakery, which got its start in Lisle, debuted its Downers Grove location in early May.

The treats at Pound Cake Bakery include strawberry oat bar cookies, berry scones, muffins and breads. Customers can also indulge in asparagus and green onion quiche, bacon cheddar bread and other savory creations.

Pound Cake Bakery was founded by Bev Hudson, who baked while pursuing a career in health care and raising two children, according to the bakery's website. The bakery also offers party platters, gift baskets and dog-friendly treats.

Its Downers Grove store will be open at 5228 Main St. Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
