Purse, Credit Cards, Electrical Boxes Stolen During Downers Grove Home Burglaries

Residential Burglary on 2nd Street

A home in the 100 block of 2nd Street was burglarized sometime between 9 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 21, police said.

The victim, an 87-year-old woman, told police she found her back door cracked open, with glass on the floor. She also noted that she couldn't find her purse, police said.

Nothing inside the home was disturbed, but the woman's purse was missing from the kitchen counter, according to reports.

The purse contained her wallet, checkbook, credit cards, driver's license, $130 cash, and a prescription pill bottle, police said.

Burglary on Lyman Avenue

A home under construction in the 5300 block of Lyman Avenue was burglarized sometime between 3 p.m on Jan. 18 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 21, police said. 

A total of 150 electrical boxes and 600 fittings were reported missing, according to reports.
