Rental Car Stolen From Home In Westmont

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A rental car was stolen from a home in Westmont in early September, according to a police report.

The renter told police they parked a black 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander outside a relative's home in the 6700 block of Vail Drive around 5 p.m. on Sept. 4. When they returned around 8 a.m. on Sept. 5, they noticed the car had been stolen.

Police say the car had been spotted in Chicago around 8 p.m. on Sept. 4.

This marks the most recent in a string of car thefts that have been reported in Westmont and nearby Downers Grove.

In late August, a Corvette was stolen from Ultimo Motors in Westmont. Just three weeks earlier, three cars had been reported stolen in Downers Grove.
