Residents Invited To Guiding DG Workshops

Two workshops will be held Thursday to give residents a chance to offer suggestions and feedback about future village developments.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Community members and business owners are encouraged to attend workshops Thursday, July 25, to share feedback and ideas for the ongoing Guiding DG initiative.

The workshops will be held in two sessions, with the times and locations as follows:

  • 2 p.m. in Village Hall Community Room, 801 Burlington Ave.
  • 6:30 p.m. at Downers Grove Park Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Rd.

Guiding DG was introduced in March with a website, followed by a kickoff meeting in early April.

The initiative centers on the village's:

  • Comprehensive plan
  • Streetscape plans for downtown and Fairview Avenue
  • Environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Bicycle and pedestrian improvements

Per the Guiding DG website, "Guiding DG is a series of projects with the goal of preparing for growth over the coming decades, while improving the livability, mobility, design, and sustainability future of Downers Grove. This collection of initiatives offers a unique opportunity for you to share your voice and big ideas on items you care about."
