DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove responded to reports of stolen Christmas decorations and a car burglary, according to the village's most recent crime blotter.
Decorations Stolen from Yard
Police say someone stole a blowup Enchanted Forest Santa decoration from the yard of a home in the 1200 block of 59th Street. Officers were called to the home around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 for a report of a theft. The resident told police that she noticed the Santa blowup was missing around that time. She said the red and white inflatable figure had been secured to the lawn with stakes. It was valued at $60.

Car Burglarized at X-Sport Fitness
Someone smashed a window and burglarized a car while it was parked in the lot of X-Sport Fitness at 3200 Finley Rd. The victim told police they went into the gym around 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 and returned to their car around 6:30 p.m. to find the rear passenger window had been shattered. They say a Coach computer bag that contained an Apple M3 Macbook Air was stolen, along with an Apple iPhone 11. The estimated total of the stolen items was valued at $2,000.
