Sign Woes Coming to a Close at DGS High School

A new sign may feature the school's mustang mascot.

Downers Grove, IL - The Downers Grove Community High School District 99 Board of Education is leaning toward one of two sign designs proposed for Downers Grove South High School, to replace the sign that was damaged in a 2011 tornado.

The new sign would be placed at 63rd Street and Dunham Road, according to the Chicago Tribune, and it would feature the school’s mustang mascot, brick columns, LED lights and text lines that would have to be changed by hand.

The sign would cost an estimated $78,000, with some of the cost covered by insurance.
