Residents are reminded of the following policies in place by the Village for handling tree debris from storms:
- The Village is responsible for the clean up and removal of fallen branches and debris from trees located on Village-owned property, also referred to as the parkway. The parkway is the section of property typically located between the street and sidewalk, where sidewalks exist.
- The removal of damaged branches and debris that come from privately owned trees and vegetation is the responsibility of the property owner.
- Debris from private property may be disposed of according to regulations outlined in the Yard Waste program. Branches may not exceed 4 feet in length or 5 inches in diameter and must be bundled together with jute twine or uncoated string. Bundles must not exceed 2 feet in diameter, 4 feet in length and 50 pounds in weight. A sticker must be attached to each bundle.
- Larger limbs and amounts of debris may require the assistance of a tree removal company.
