Aggravated DUI, Attempted Home Burglary: Police Blotter

Attempted Home Burglary

Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Claremont Drive for a suspicious incident report. The homeowner told police he arrived home around 4 p.m., and noticed the lock on the back door was loose. When he looked closer, he noticed two small pry marks by the locking mechanism and minor damage along the door frame, police said.

It did not appear that anyone entered the home or that anything was taken, police said.

Stolen Light Bulbs

Light bulbs were reported stolen from outside light fixtures in the 1600 block of Valley Forge Drive, police said. The bulbs were taken sometime between 6 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 6:44 p.m. on Jan. 24, according to reports.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

Aggravated DUI

Robert T. Waters, 22, of the 6700 block of Maple Drive in Westmont, was arrested around 12:42 a.m. in the 6300 block of Main Street, police said. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, speeding, failure to signal when required and driving on a suspended license. He was issued a Feb. 13 court date in Wheaton.
