Third Accused Radio Shack Robber Found Guilty

Brandon Jones has been found guilty on armed robbery and violence charges for a 2013 robbery in Downers Grove.

One of three men charged in connection with a Dec. 2013 Downers Grove Radio Shack robbery has been found guilty of armed robbery and violence, and he was acquitted of kidnapping.

The jury deliberated about 10 hours before delivering the verdict for Brandon Jones, 22 of Woodridge, according to the Chicago Tribune, and Jones is scheduled Feb. 19 for a presentence report.

Downers Grove police reported Jones and Carlos Brown of Downers Grove allegedly went into the Radio Shack at 75th Street and Lemont Road on Dec. 11 while a third man, BL Jones of Chicago, stayed in their car.

Jones reportedly pointed a loaded gun at the store clerk and made him open a cage containing cell phones. Police report the men took about 15 phones and left the store.

Police pulled the three men over after a chase, and Brandon Jones and Brown reportedly ran away before they were caught and arrested.

The Tribune reports Brown was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery, and BL Jones was sentenced to eight years for his involvement.
