Tyson Foods Relocating Employees From Illinois To Arkansas

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Corporate employees who work for Tyson Foods in Chicago and Downers Grove will soon be relocated to the company's headquarters in Arkansas, according to a news release Tyson shared on its website Wednesday. The move will also impact employees who work at Tyson's office in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.

The move will affect nearly 1,000 jobs, ABC Chicago reported.

The move, planned for early 2023, comes in an effort to "foster closer collaboration, enhance team member agility and enable faster decision making," the news release said. Tyson Foods additionally plans to expand its global headquarters to enhance its employees' work experience by creating "diverse and dynamic spaces" aimed at making collaboration easier.

“Tyson’s diverse portfolio of products and brands provides us with an unmatched strategic advantage to serve our customers,” Donnie King, President and CEO of Tyson Foods, said in the news release.

King added, “Bringing our talented corporate team members and businesses together under one roof unlocks greater opportunities to share perspectives and ideas, while also enabling us to act quickly to solve problems and provide the innovative products solutions that our customers deserve and value.”

Tyson Foods got its start in Arkansas in 1931, per the company's website. In the past 90 years, the company expanded throughout the United States and internationally. The Downers Grove office, located at 3131 Woodcreek Dr., opened in 2019. Its Chicago office is located at 400 S. Jefferson St.
